Are there two charges for one appointment?
When you book a Glamsquad appointment, we initially place an authorization hold on your payment method for the base service price. This authorization is a temporary hold—not an actual charge—and it ensures that the funds are available. This hold typically lasts 3 to 5 business days and will appear as a pending charge on your statement.
After the authorization period, the pending charge will drop off, and you will see a refund for that exact amount. This is a standard banking process to release the hold on your funds.
Your card will only be charged after your appointment is completed. The final charge will include the base service price plus additional fees such as our support fee, applicable taxes, and an automatic 20% gratuity. Therefore, the final charge may be higher than the initial authorization hold.

Additional information to help clarify:
The authorization hold is not an extra or double charge; it’s a common practice used by many service providers to verify payment.
You won’t be charged twice—only one final charge will be posted after your appointment.
If your appointment is canceled or rescheduled before it happens, the authorization hold will be released, and no charge will be made.
The automatic 20% gratuity is included in the final charge but can be adjusted after the service if you choose to tip differently.

How long does it take for the authorization hold to be released?
Authorization holds typically last between 3 to 5 business days, depending on your bank or credit card issuer. After this period, the hold is automatically released, and the funds become available in your account again. If the hold lingers longer, we recommend contacting your bank, as processing times can vary. Can I adjust or remove the automatic gratuity after the appointment?
Yes! The 20% gratuity is automatically added to your final charge to ensure our professionals are fairly tipped. After your appointment, you can adjust or remove by contacting our support team. Any changes will be reflected in your final payment. Why is there a support fee, and what does it cover?
The support fee helps maintain a high-quality experience for both clients and GlamSquad professionals. It covers operational costs like booking support, customer service, secure payment processing, and quality control, allowing us to offer reliable and convenient beauty services directly to you.
