To get the best results from your updo appointment, we recommend arriving with clean, dry hair that was washed the day before. Slightly lived-in hair (i.e., hair that hasn’t been freshly shampooed) tends to hold styles better and offers more grip for pins and styling products.
There’s no need to wash your hair the day of your appointment, and we do not offer shampoo services as part of updo styling. If your hair tends to get oily quickly, using a light dry shampoo the morning of your appointment is perfectly fine. Just be sure to avoid using heavy oils, serums, or leave-in conditioners right before your appointment, as they can weigh the hair down and make it harder to style.
If you're unsure whether your hair is the right texture for styling, or if you’re coming from the gym or a humid environment, feel free to blow dry it straight or smooth it out slightly with a flat iron in advance. That gives your stylist a clean canvas to work from.
If you have naturally curly or textured hair: Please let us know your hair type in advance when booking, as this will help us match you with the best stylist for your hair texture and desired look.
